About the Author
Andrew Pickin grew up in the Potteries of creative Staffordshire, spending every childhood day immersed in books as well as endlessly illustrating, painting and experimenting. It wasn’t long before Andrew decided to merge artwork with writing; his passion seemed relentless.
Brought up by an award-winning artist and a proof-reader, Andrew received constant support throughout his childhood, something that he is eternally grateful for. A Distinction in Fine Art and a First Class Honours Degree in Animation serve to remind us of his outstanding abilities.
Inspired by an endless array of authors and artists, Andrew finds his work imbued with the fantastical and tinged with vibrant tones. His illustrated works are vivid and exceptionally creative, aimed at invigorating children’s imaginations, something about which he is extremely passionate. Andrew enjoys attending schools and festivals with the aim of inspiring young people to read, write and illustrate.
As a hobby, Andrew produces animated work for films, music videos and computer games. He now lives in the beautiful town of Shrewsbury with his wife and two children.
